After a LONG time away from the blog, I've finally returned. I'm going to use every excuse in the book - Too busy exploring London, work, bad weather etc, but in reality, I became lazy and uninspired. I was throwing my big grey coat on top of everything I wore, and forgot to take photos even when I didn't. I'm writing in the sun today - it's 13 degrees, with a beautiful warm breeze.
So here we go again! I've decided it's also worthwhile having a little more structure to the blog. A friend of mine writes a great blog every Sunday which I always look forward to reading. So here's to at least one post a week - probably on a Monday.
I wasn't planning on starting up again so soon, so you'll have to excuse the camera phone quality. I accidentally went to Portobello Road markets on Saturday morning. I went for a walk around Notting Hill toward Lancaster gate - a walk I make a few times a week, but usually because I'm rushing between tube stations. I had no plan for the day, and walked wherever I fancied. I came across the back end of Portobello in all of it's Saturday Morning tourist glory. I walked through a vintage clothes section and a live music area that I didn't know existed. I was in the vintage section when I stumbled across a red chord cape that I immediately fell in love with. It looked like a grandfather's version of Lupita Nyong'o's now infamous Ralph Lauren dress. So I bought it. Hilariously, I couldn't use any of my usual bags with it because my arms were trapped under the warm restricting layers of red chord, so it also gave me an excuse to use a totally impractical bag that I bought from a flea market in PNG about 2 years ago.
H&M trousers, my favourite H&M maternity jumper, Aldo Boots, Vintage cape from Portobello Market, Vintage Bag, H&M beanie (similar here), Earrings and Scarf are both market finds from my wonderful mother.
